New Versus LP - first in a decade and first for EJRC. There have been rumblings for years amongst the band’s ardent fans about Versus working on a sci-fi concept album. The band had essentially disappeared from the public eye since releasing 2010’s On the Ones and Threes, before the excellent Ex Nihilo EP materialized in May on a new label, Ernest Jenning Record Co.
Influential NYC indie greats Versus are excited to announce Ex Voto, their first new full-length album in nine years. The group has shared the album's first single, "Mummified," which BrooklynVegan called "a typically roaring Versus indie rock number but them blossoms into something much prettier and sparkling, almost Smiths-esque, with Richard [Baluyut] and bassist Fontaine Toups trading off lead vocals and coming together for lovely harmonies." Versus has had a true return to form in 2019, with the new Ex Nihilo EP already under their belts, shows supporting the likes of Ex Hex and Galaxie 500 and a triumphant return to SXSW.
